VBP Culinary Scholarship is named after my beloved mother who now rest in paradise the late Mrs. Velma Bridges-Porter. She impacted my life not only as my mom, but as an Educator for 20 plus years in Detroit Public Schools as a Teacher, Mentor and Tutor. She touched so many lives through her knowledge, her passion for teaching and her Big Heart for giving back, that I wanted to do the same by starting a scholarship foundation for future Culinary Students.
